The Buffalo Skinners are a Folk-Rock & Roll band consisting of Guitar, Bass, Violin, Fender Rhodes & Accordion
We are seeking a drummer who would need to be ready to start rehearsing in May 2014.
The right drummer would receive an equal share of all live performance fees and physical merchandise sold at shows.
We have a UK tour booked including dates in London, Leeds, Manchester, York, Wakefield, Bristol, Oxford and Newcastle.
We have a Summer full of festivals including Boomtown Fair, Galtres Parklands, Deer Shed Festival, Richmond Live and The Summertyne Americana Festival in Gateshead.
The drummer would need his own kit.
It would be a bonus if the drummer could also drive, but this won't be essential.
The Buffalo Skinners started out as a busking band in 2010, channelling old folk and skiffle heroes to appreciative ears in northern coastal towns. Four years together now finds them leaning towards a fuller electric sound borrowing from 60’s rock & roll, British invasion bands and still, from their first love, folk.
Their live show comes equipped with infectious energy and an arsenal of instruments; Fender Rhodes Keyboard, Violin and Accordion, topped off with their signature ‘harmonious vocal cacophony.’ All designed to directly cause a good time.
Their first album ‘The Buffalo Skinners’ was awarded five stars out of five and ‘best of the bunch’ by Rhubarb Bomb Magazine and was a mainstay in the KSPC Americana charts throughout 2012.
Later in the year the band gained attention by receiving a string of plays on BBC national radio -including the Steve Lamacq show - with their single ‘Sam’s Chop House / Lost & Gone.’ The Buffalo Skinners also appeared on the BBC 2 television documentary, ’Towns.’
Last Summer they recorded their yet to be released second album ‘The Other Nine-to-Five’ in Los Angeles, collaborating with local musicians from ‘The Wild Reeds’ and ‘Sadie & the Blue Eyed Devils.’ They also performed at Hollywood and Sunset Strip’s most exciting venues including; ‘Hotel Cafe,’ ‘The Spare Room’ at The Roosevelt Hotel, ‘Harvard & Stone,’ ‘The House of Blues’ and ‘The Satellite.’ The band are now back together after a short break to play UK festivals and an additional 10 date British tour to promote their new record.
They have previously opened festival stages for the likes of Guillemotts, Echo & The Bunnymen, Treetop Flyers, Ocean Colour Scene, Ellen & The Escapades and Mama Rosin.
'The Other Nine-to-Five' will be released June 13th. In the meantime, you can listen to the rest of their music for free on Bandcamp. It has already made a big impression with some very well respected judges:
